Worry Out, Peace In

Earlier  this morning, I took an opportunity to look at a guided prayer that YouVersion has and one of the scriptures it brought out was 1Peter 5:6-7.

[6] So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. [7] Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

                        1 Peter 5:6-7 NLT

Verse 7 reminded me of time when worry was all that occupied my mind, it was an opportunity  for The Holy Spirit  to reveal to me that "worry was prayer to another  god."  After the initial shock of that revelation, I repented  and in time, that I needed to think upon good things and two, that this wrong thinking was because I did not see my God rightly.  Verse 7a  is seeing God Rightly, "HE CARES !!. What a wonderful  revelation  please remember  that in every circumstance , The God of the universe  cares He is not distant.  Here is where our mind switches  the enemy tells us " He doesn't care about you".  (Caution,  colloquialism warning!!) "Hog wash!",  the enemy is a liar, if he says it believe  the opposite, better yet change the channel reflect on what Peter is telling us. "Give  all" , how much ? ALL. My english professor would have red marks all over this, (get back on track).  Look our world is full of worry at every turn, the enemy is turning up the heat his time is short,  God knows that we have worries and that they are real, but He knows the heart of man. Folks we can't carry worry but God can, take on the peace that passes all understanding and God will take care of it. One more thing, while scrolling down; a  wife who was concerned for her husband; due to a  heart condition; ask for prayer; but I noticed on the request earlier that she asked the Father to " open her closed fist". What a powerful revelation of her condition; be honest how many of us hold tightly to our worries; sick loved ones; our financial problems; and  our looming future.  Spend time today meditating on 1 Peter 5:6-7 soak in the trurth that God cares because He does. Bob Yandian brought out the point that we pray over and over about our  concerns, "What Do You Think God Forgets"?  Never, lay it down at His feet open your fist, and in due time our God will come through,  but in the meantime,  thank Him, praise Him.
                                                           PEACE
